The voicemail app is the culprit on my moto g pure. It looks like clearing the voicemail app data and cache temporarily makes the alarm icon go away only to come back in some time. ![]() While Motorola is yet to officially acknowledge the problem, we did come across a workaround that might help fix the problem. Oh yeah I also checked to see if any apps had a timer set by accident. I tried safe mode and the alarm clock icon still stayed there. I reset all app preferences and restarted the phone. ![]() I have cleared the cache and data in the clock app and the problem still stayed. So I have already tried a few suggestions. But I want to remove it and I can’t figure out how to remove it. I have an alarm clock icon on my lock screen set at a specific time. I’m at a loss as to why this appears and how to remove it. No recent updates have been made and no new apps have been added. I also ran my phone in Safe Mode but the Alarm Icon was still there. I tried clearing storage data and cache in the Clock App and restarting my phone but the Alarm Icon remains. I have a Moto G Fast Phone and today () an Alarm Icon started to appear on the top right status bar and I have not been able to remove it. Generic troubleshooting solutions such as restarting the Clock app, clearing data and cache, resetting app restrictions, and rebooting into Safe Mode aren’t helping either. Users say they are confused and wondering as to what is happening. That said, several Moto G series device owners are now reporting that the alarm icon is showing up in the notification bar even though they haven’t set up any alarm ( 1, 2, 3). You can choice alarm types: beep, speech or custom wav/ogg files, no ads, open-source, GPLv3. The only documented and semi-supported API for Android related to the alarm clock is for you to define a new alarm. Follow these steps to set an alarm using Android's default app: Open the Clock app. The "better solution" is to either find an existing third-party alarm clock that has the app widget you desire, or to write your own alarm clock app that, among other things, has the app widget you desire. I've read that using a ContentProvider to achieve this isn't compatible on many devices and isn't supported, so I'd like to find a better solution if possible.
